The unit shuts off when not in use, then politely reminds you to turn it back on when you're rolling again. The Solo S2 covers both radar and laser bands, and is invisible to VG2 detector detectors. The hi-res display is easy to read and the entire unit is easy to use right out of the box. You can even customize any of 10 user-selectable features.
Comes with a comprehensive Owner's Manual, quick-release adjustable windshield mount, built-in earphone jack, travel case, and a set of AA batteries.

Band Detection
The Solo S2 provides long-range warning on all radar bands used in the USA: conventional and "instant-on" X-band, K-band, and Superwide Ka-band. Escort's patented Digital Signal Processing (DSP) gives the longest warning possible (short of bothering you with annoying false alarms). You'll experience a 400% longer detection range on Ka-band than with other cordless radar detectors.

Power Management Circuitry
The Solo S2 is designed to use far less current than a conventional, corded radar detector. A pair of AA batteries (included) gives you months of normal use. An auto-shutoff saves power when you're not using the unit. The Solo S2 constantly monitors battery condition, reminding with visual and audible alerts when replacement time nears.

Laser Detection
The Escort Solo S2 employs multiple low-noise laser sensors to give long-range warning, along with the widest field of view against laser threats.

User-Programmable Features
Customize your Solo S2 to your own driving style with 10 user-programmable features. Settings are stored in the unit's memory. If you'd rather not use the programming, just open the box and go with factory default settings.

High-Res LCD Display
The Solo S2's bright display clearly identifies each type of radar, laser and SWS signal. Choose from 3 signal strength meters. The backlit display automatically adjusts for optimum viewing.

Safety Radar Signals (SWS)
The Solo S2 gives unique, audible and visual alerts for Safety Warning System (SWS) signals. In areas that use this technology, the Solo S2 gives you alerts (up to 64 different messages) to keep you informed of road hazards ahead.
