SENSORSMost functions of a modern engine are governed by sensors. Not only has it made engines much more efficient and reliable and cut emissions, it’s also made diagnosis of problems much easier. When a sensor in the signal chain is registering readings that are out of parameters, the engine’s control computer registers a trouble code, then notifies the driver by illuminating the Check Engine light on the dashboard. A tech can hook up a code reader to the car’s OBD-II diagnostic port and before long, the trouble codes will show up on the code reader and point the mechanic in the right direction. It’s a far cry indeed from the days when a tech had to use an engine stethoscope, vacuum readings or just plain gut-feeling to diagnose engine or drivability problems!
If you’re needing to replace OEM sensors to restore power, fuel economy or drivability…or if you’re wanting to tweak your performance a little through aftermarket sensors…you’ve come to the right place!
