Was not told that I needed a hot air gun to attach this item to my headlight glass.Waiting for my geat gun from Amazon.

Maybe it didn't work so well because it was cool the day I installed them. Many months later it still has bubbles under it and the covers for the fog lamps never laid flat no matter how hot I got the plastic cover.

I'ved used these X-Pel shields on my last three cars (two Mercedes and a Mazda) and loved how they protected the lenses and how the plastic headlight lenses on the Mazda never got dull or oxidized. As a matter of fact, it was difficult to tell they were even installed. (I had them on the Mazda for 7 years and they never cracked, got brittle or yellowed.) However, those cars had less curvy headlight lenses than my 2010 Altima. My advice is DON'T try to install these shields without going to the X-Pel website to view their installation videos, unless your headlights are flat or don't have compund curves. It will save you a ton of grief and give you a better result. I did one without viewing the video, relying on past experience, and though the result was OK, the installation wasn't as good as the other one I installed after viewing the video. For curvy lenses, using a hair dryer (or other heat source) is definitely required. The heat makes the shield soft and pliable so it can be pulled into place and applied without bunching or bubbles in the application. The instructions on the package says to wet the lense so the shield can slide into place but that just makes it harder to form the shield over a very curvy lense. Check out the video to see how one does it with little or no fluid and instead uses the heat source to soften and stretch the shield over the headlight lens.

I have been using these on our vehicles for many years now and work great. I traded in a 2001 PT and the lens were not faded or broken and I do think these covers helped with that, stones just bounce off. I do know it less costly to install these on your lens than it is to replace them. The install is so EZ just about anyone could do it.

X-Pel had saved my lights more than once. Winter in Maine is hard on windshields and headlights (Sanded roads with small rocks). Fourth vehicle with them. Would not drive without.
